General Practice Patient Care Staff in Chelsea & Fulham Increased by 74

Greg Hands MP has welcomed news that there are 74 more doctors, nurses and other patient care staff working in general practice in Chelsea and Fulham. This includes roles such as dispensers, health care assistants, phlebotomists, pharmacists, physiotherapists, podiatrists, therapists and others.

The Plan for Patients set out the government’s commitment to improving general practice and using transparent data to inform and empower patients. A modelling approach has enabled estimates of staff at the level of parliamentary constituencies to be given for the first time.

Data published by the government shows the number of Full Time Equivalent doctors, nurses and other direct patient care staff in general practice in September 2019 and September 2022, and the change over that period, for every constituency in England.

Commenting, Greg Hands said:

‘’It is great to know that there are 74 more doctors, nurses and other patient care staff working in general practice in Chelsea and Fulham which is an increase of 77%!

‘’As laid out in this Conservative Government’s ‘Plan for Patients’ in September 2022, good primary care is the foundation of an effective health system for patients and is the way that most people experience the NHS. So, it is very welcome that in Chelsea and Fulham our number of general practice patient care staff has increased.

‘’Thank you to all the hard working doctors, nurses and other patient care staff who do an excellent job looking after people in our local community.’’
