Greg Hands MP has welcomed the announcement of Cllr Tony Devenish’s candidature for the London Assembly.
On the evening of Thursday, 17 September, Greg Hands, Member of Parliament for Chelsea and Fulham, attended two events hosted by members of the Kensington, Chelsea and Fulham Conservative Association. In addition to an event hosted by the Parsons Green & Walham and Sands End wards, Greg also attended an event hosted by the Campden and Holland wards.
At the latter event, Greg Hands ran in to Tony Devenish, Conservative councillor for Knightsbridge and Belgravia in the City of Westminster. Greg congratulated Cllr Devenish for his recent nomination as Conservative candidate for the West Central constituency on the London Assembly.
Commenting after the event, Greg Hands said: “The forthcoming Greater London Authority elections are incredibly important for all of my constituents, and I look forward to voting for Cllr Tony Devenish, who has been chosen to stand in the London Assembly constituency of West Central, an area which includes both parts of my own parliamentary constituency of Chelsea and Fulham.”
Not forgetting the discussion and deliberation occurring across London as Conservatives decide whom to select as their mayoral candidate, Greg Hands reminded his constituents: “And of course, let’s not forget that Stephen Greenhalgh – Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, former Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham Council, and my friend – has been selected as a shortlisted Conservative candidate for Mayor of London. Stephen stands out for two reasons: he has the experience in local and London government; and he seems to be the candidate most keen to do the job actually on offer.
“Let’s get a proper Londoner, with a plan for London’s future. Let’s choose Stephen Greenhalgh.”
