Dear Resident,
I hope you are well.
I am very pleased to announce that the Conservative Government has successfully delivered on its flagship manifesto commitment of recruiting 20,000 new police officers. We now have a record number of police officers across the country, with a record number in London as well.
This is a significant achievement, there are now more police officers across England and Wales than at any point in our history - thanks to the incredible success of the Police Officer Uplift Programme. This puts record numbers of police officers into communities to make our streets safer.
I welcome the additional 3,468 police officers for the Metropolitan Police, as making sure residents feel safe in Chelsea and Fulham is a priority for me. The increased presence of the police in our neighbourhoods will cut crime, protect the vulnerable and create new opportunities for the police to build relationships with the local community.
This week, Nickie Aiken MP for Cities of London and Westminster, and I have also handed in the petition to save the 11, 211 and N11 bus routes from Mayor Khan and TfL’s axe. With over 5,000 signatures, there is a strong sense of public outrage and concern among our constituents over these unpopular plans.
I would like to thank everyone who has added their signature to my petition to save the 11, 211 and N11. TfL and Mayor Khan need to listen to these local voices and abandon the bus cuts immediately.
I hope you have a great long weekend.
Best wishes,
Greg Hands
The Rt Hon Greg Hands MP
