News Bulletin #719: A record of delivery, a promise of more!

Canvassing Clem Attlee Estate

Dear resident,

Since the election was called last week, I have been out on the doorstep, meeting and talking with residents across Chelsea and Fulham.

There has been a really good response from local residents – thanks to everyone who has chatted with me. It has been great to discuss how, together, we have made Chelsea and Fulham an even better place to live.

We are fighting Keir Starmer's proposed 20% tax on independent school parents - thanks to the 2,446 residents who have signed my petition against this - you can join them by signing here.

We have saved The Brunswick Club from Labour-run Hammersmith & Fulham Council's cuts. A great example of people power in action as 2,837 residents signing my petition to stop these cuts.

Over many years I have successfully campaigned to save our local bus routes. Many residents have joined me in this campaign, with almost 10,000 residents signing recent petitions to save the buses facing the axe from Sadiq Khan, including the 11, 14, 74, and C3 bus routes.

But less than a month back in office and Sadiq Khan is trying to cut our buses again! This time, the 85 bus route from Putney Bridge station to Kingston. His proposal is to cut the frequency by a third, Monday - Saturday. I will continue to stick up for residents to ensure they have the access to frequent and reliable bus services.

We also continue to call for the full re-opening of Hammersmith Bridge to cars, buses and emergency vehicles. Wednesday, 10 April 2024 sadly marked the five year anniversary of the closure of Hammersmith Bridge to cars, buses and emergency vehicles. It has been a shocking record of inaction by the bridge’s owner, Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

Therefore, I am calling for the farce to end and for ownership of the Bridge to be formally transferred from LBHF to Transport for London (TfL). In addition to launching a petition, which you can sign here.

I have a record of delivery and a promise of more!

I am the candidate who will continue to always stick up for local residents. So, when the time comes to vote on the 4th of July, make sure your vote counts by voting for Greg Hands!

Kind regards,

Greg Hands
