I have always campaigned against Heathrow Expansion, and resigned as a Minister over the issue in 2018.
I have:
- Called for a temporary suspension of night flights at Heathrow during the pandemic.
- Campaigned to stop plans to expand Heathrow with a third runway which would increase noise over our community.
- Always opposed night flights and have campaigned against them across successive Governments.
- Launching petitions, chaired and hosted public Q and A meetings which representatives from Heathrow attended, responded to multiple consultations and met Ministers frequently to make the case.
I will:
- Continue to oppose the expansion of Heathrow Airport.
- Continue to oppose night flights due to the impact they have on residents’ sleep.
