News Bulletin 655: King Charles III visits Parliament

King Charles III

Dear Resident,

This week has been a busy, varied and momentous week.

I completed my trade visit to the US with visits to California and Utah before embarking on a busy week in Westminster and Chelsea & Fulham.

I was honoured to be present at two momentous occasions in Parliament this week: On Wednesday HM King Charles III unveiled the new plaque in Westminster Hall, marking the laying in state of our late Queen.

A one-minute silence was observed in the House of Commons chamber on Thursday to mark 80 years since the UK first publicly recognised what we now know as the Holocaust.

It has been a varied week in the Department for International Trade where I held numerous bilateral meetings with European and international counterparts. Alongside my Ministerial colleagues and Secretary of State Kemi Badenoch, I answered Questions on International Trade on Thursday. More on that below.

Keep an eye out for my local petitions: I am campaigning to retain a Post Office on the North End Road and continue to fight Mayor Khan’s threats to change our local buses.

With more than 50% of children in Chelsea & Fulham attending an independent school, Labour’s plans to add 20% VAT onto school fees would have a terrible impact on EVERY child locally. Sign my petition against these short sighted plans!

Enjoy the weekend!

Yours,
Greg Hands
