Greg Hands has welcomed the latest official employment figures which show that 693 fewer people in Chelsea and Fulham are relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance since 2010, a 36% drop since the General Election.
More people are getting off benefits and into work across London, with 404,000 more people in work since the last election.
Greg Hands MP said: “It is excellent news that since 2010 there are 693 fewer people relying on Jobseeker’s Allowance in Chelsea and Fulham. That means many more local people and their families now have a better and brighter future ahead of them.
“As part of the Conservatives’ long-term economic plan, we’ve been backing businesses to create more jobs. It’s clear that you are better off, and more likely to be in work, under a Conservative Government.
“These figures show that our plan is working. We need to stick to it. It’s the only way to keep the economy growing, and keep businesses creating jobs, and so more families in Chelsea and Fulham get the security of a job and regular pay packet.”
