Greg Hands, MP for Chelsea and Fulham, is supporting a new initiative to keep Fulham residents informed about events in the local area.
Two Fulham mothers, Lara Soetekouw and Claudine Church, have just launched “Those Who Nose Fulham” www.thosewhonosefulham.com, a website and newsletter listing things to do in Fulham. Both women are Fulham residents with young children at school in Fulham and both have a ‘nose’ for entrepreneurial ideas and business.
Those Who Nose Fulham is a free on-line calendar and weekly e-newsletter listing all the latest events in Fulham. It is FREE to subscribers and FREE to anyone who would like to share their event with the rest of Fulham. The email they receive will only list events for the next 10 days, no other news, editorial or advertisements, and it is for Fulham only.
Those Who Nose Fulham was launched at the end of August this year by Lara and Claudine after hearing about many good local events too late. Following further research it became clear that there was an absence of a single platform to publicise Fulham only events, big and small and so ‘Those Who Nose Fulham’ was created.
Co-founder Lara Soetekouw said: “We were frustrated of only hearing about some great event happening on our doorstep when it was too late, or of not knowing there was a Chelsea match and getting stuck in traffic. We wished somebody would alert us with an email. When we looked around and couldn’t find it, we decided to do it ourselves“.
Greg Hands MP said “I am very happy to be supporting Lara and Claudine with their initiative. I think it’s a great idea. We have many fantastic events happening each week in Fulham, and to have them all one easy to read place will be very useful. Having visited the site, I found it very comprehensive and straightforward to use. I hope local residents will make good use of both the website and newsletter, and I wish ‘Those Who Nose Fulham’ every success.”
The site covers all local events from art exhibitions to farmers markets, theatre productions to football matches. It also includes information on local school open days and half term dates and local traffic disruption. Although it its early days, so far Those Who Nose has been very well received, particularly from local businesses and organisations who are keen to promote their events and can do so for free.
Co-founder Claudine Church added: “So whether its donning your wellies for the New Kings Road or Bishops Park Farmers Markets, enjoying a recital at one of Fulham’s many glorious churches, or avoiding car parking pressures when Chelsea or Fulham are playing at home, you will now have a handy weekly reminder delivered right under your … nose.”
