Greg Hands MP is informing residents that Transport for London (TfL) are refurbishing the mechanisms of the two lifts at Fulham Broadway station later this month. The lifts will be taken out of service one at a time:
Between Saturday 14 and Wednesday 18 February inclusive, there will be no lift access to or from the eastbound platform. During this period, customers requiring step-free access eastbound from Fulham Broadway will be advised to travel on a westbound train to Southfields and return on an eastbound service. Those customers who are already travelling eastbound on the District line and who require step-free access exit at Fulham Broadway will be advised to remain on the train, continue on to Earl’s Court and return via a westbound service.
Between Saturday 21 and Friday 27 January inclusive, there will be no lift access to or from the westbound platform. During this period, customers requiring westbound step-free access from Fulham Broadway will be advised to travel on an eastbound District line service to Earl’s Court and return via a westbound service. Customers already on a westbound train requiring step-free access exit at Fulham Broadway will be advised to remain on the train as far as Southfields, and return on an eastbound train.
TfL have sent emails to registered Oyster customers advising them of the closures, and posters will be on display at Fulham Broadway station itself and at other District line stations with step-free access.
More information will be available on www.tfl.gov.uk and via the TfL Twitter feeds.
