The wait is at an end for parents, boys and governors at the Fulham Boys School, as the Education Funding Agency has agreed the purchase of a site on the Fulham Road, close to the junction of the North End Road, currently occupied by Fulham Police Station.
The school describes it as a fantastic location, placing them in the heart of Fulham, with ample space for the school to grow into its sixth form.
The plans for this permanent home for FBS will be submitted shortly and the school is on track to move in the academic year 2016/17.
The school looks forward to sharing further information in the coming weeks and meanwhile thanks parents for their help along the way, their patience and understanding.
The new site was finalized after strong interventions from Mayor Boris Johnson and Education Secretary Nicky Morgan.
Fulham MP and the school's Patron, Greg Hands, said: "I am overjoyed that we finally have a permanent site for the excellent Fulham Boys School. This comes after many years of searching and quite a number of twists and turns! Thanks are due to Boris and to Nicky Morgan and Lord Nash, who have all played crucial roles in making this happen. I look forward to the school moving to its new site in the heart of Fulham in due course."
