Dear resident,
I hope you are well.
Firstly, I would like to invite all Chelsea and Fulham constituents to my Chelsea Crime Summit, which will provide residents with the opportunity to raise concerns and questions about crime in the local area directly with the Metropolitan Police and local representatives. Joining me on the panel will be Inspector Simon Crew from Central West BCU, Tony Devenish, the GLA Member for West Central London, and a senior Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Councillor. The summit will be held on Friday 25 February from 7 pm - 8:30 pm. Please click here for further information on how to register for attendance.
I would also like to bring to your attention the lack of step-free access at Parsons Green and Putney Bridge tube stations, which has always been a serious concern for many constituents, especially the elderly, those with restricted mobility and families with young children. Both stations are the least accessible in Chelsea and Fulham, with no lift in either, and Putney Bridge has lengthy staircases.
I recently organised two petitions to TfL, calling for improvements to passenger accessibility at both stations. In their response, TfL and the Managing Director of London Underground assured me that calls for step-free access in both stations had been recognised and that they would be considered in future projects.
However, we must keep the pressure on Sadiq Khan and TfL and I, therefore, encourage all residents to take part in TfL’s Step-Free Access Consultation before the deadline on 10 February 2022 so you can share your views and help shape TfL’s future approach to our local stations. Please click here to have your say!Kind regards,
Greg HandsThe Rt Hon Greg Hands MP
Member of Parliament for Chelsea & Fulham
