On Friday 25 February, the MP for Chelsea and Fulham spoke at a public hearing, opposing the Boundary Commission’s constituency proposals, which would split Chelsea into Chelsea East and Chelsea West.
The second public consultation on the Boundary Commission’s proposals has now been launched and will be open until 4 April 2022. As some residents may recall, the new proposals would cut Chelsea into two, splitting each of the King’s Road and Fulham Road, dividing the well-knit Chelsea community in a wholly arbitrary manner.
As part of the consultation, Greg spoke at Westminster Central Hall, opposing the Boundary Commission’s proposal in favour of his own proposal which would keep Chelsea as one community, connected to Fulham. Commenting on Friday, Greg said
“I encourage all residents to take part in the second consultation by submitting their views online to the Boundary Commission.
By doing this, you can help ensure that Chelsea is not unreasonably split in half without any justification and remains as one.”
