Dear Resident,
I hope you are well.
As the crisis in Ukraine continues to cause devastation, the courage that the Ukrainian people have shown during this period has been truly remarkable. The United Kingdom has a proud history of helping others in need and I would therefore like to welcome the launch of the ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme, announced this week.
The ‘Homes for Ukraine’ scheme will allow individuals, charities, community groups and businesses in the UK to bring Ukrainians to safety – including those with no family ties to the UK. Phase one of the scheme will allow sponsors in the UK to nominate a named Ukrainian or a named Ukrainian family to stay with them in their home or in a separate property. If any local residents would like to record their interest in this scheme, please click here.
In other news, it has been a very busy week for me in Westminster, Chelsea and Fulham ranging from responding to an Urgent Question and an Opposition Day Debate in the House of Commons to meeting with the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust to discuss the importance of ensuring that any prospective owners of Chelsea FC engage with supporters and the local community as much as possible. Please read on to find out more.
Kind regards,
