Dear Resident,
I hope this finds you well.
It’s been a busy week for me – at home and abroad. At the end of last week, I attended the prestigious Ludwig-Erhard-Summit in Bavaria. Following interesting and constructive discussions on energy security, the economy as well as the situation in Ukraine, I travelled on to Katowice in Poland. At the 14th European Economic Congress, I discussed how to end Russian energy imports with Poland’s Europe Minister Szymański, listened to an inspiring speech by Polish Prime Minister Morawiecki on how to keep western unity and spoke on the UK’s plan to end Russian oil imports by the end of the year.
On arrival at Katowice Central Station, I was humbled to see how much support is being offered to refugees from Ukraine. A great effort from Polish volunteers. You can donate to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal here.
Back in London, I met with US Governor Eric Holcomb from Indiana and caught up with my constituency team before heading to Somerset to visit Hinkley B & C and opening a new training centre for future reactor operators.Have a good (long) weekend!
Kind regards,
