A planning application has been submitted for The Glassmill, 1 Battersea Bridge Road, London, SW11 3BZ.
The developer is proposing a comprehensive redevelopment of the site to include demolition of existing building, which would be replaced by a part 9 storey, part 33 storey building. Residents can read more about this application here.
Greg knows that this proposal is hugely unpopular along the Chelsea riverside. This is why, Greg has launched a campaign against this proposed Battersea tower.
This development is hugely unpopular along the riverside due to a number of reasons:
- The height – 33 storeys is very high.
- Glass building not in keeping with Chelsea’s character.
- The spoiling of views over the Thames.
- Harm to Thames Conservation area.
- The disruption to the local area due to the construction.
Greg encourages residents to comment on the application here, and has launched a petition so that residents can register their objection.
