These covered his work as the Member of Parliament for Chelsea & Fulham as well as his Ministerial work as Minister for Trade Policy and Minister for London.
This week, Transport Minister Guy Opperman joined me in Fulham to find out more about the SW6 Traffic Scheme and its impact on businesses and traffic displacement.
It has been a varied week in Westminster with Trade meetings and Dementia Action Week as well as in the constituency where I held a surgery for residents, visited local schools and spoke at the Lots Road Neighbourhood Forum.
This week, I met with the inspiring volunteers of the Fulham Breastfeeding Support Group, visited Chelsea & Westminster Hospital with Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Laura Trott MP, and attended a community event organised by the local police.
One of the highlights of this week was my visit to The Gaumont on Chelsea’s King’s Road – a fantastic project by Cadogan. I am very much looking forward to seeing it open later this year!
This week I reacted to worrying news in the Evening Standard that Heathrow bosses are speeding up their review of a third runway at Heathrow Airport.
This is alarming news for us in Chelsea & Fulham. I will continue to fight expansion plans at Heathrow and I continue to call for a suspension of night flights which regularly disturb the sleep of thousands of my constituents.
I had a busy week, visiting many schools in the constituency. Both state and independent schools provide excellent education across Chelsea & Fulham and school visits are often my favourite type of constituency engagement.
I regularly find that students ask the most interesting and tough questions – a quite challenging experience.
I visited the scene of a recent horrific stabbing incident on Clancarty Road, Fulham with Cllrs Afonso and Pascu-Tulbure. I have created an online crime survey as I am keen to know constituents' views and hear about their concerns on local crime in Chelsea & Fulham.
This week, I also congratulated the police on swift action where officers attended a violent phone mugging in Bishops Park promptly. Four suspects were caught and arrested.
This week, I travelled to Kyiv to sign a defence partnership to help Ukraine push back against Russian aggression.
Locally, I kicked off a campaign to Save the Colton Arms pub in Fulham and marked the 5 year anniversary of the closure of Hammersmith Bridge. This is 5 miles of the Thames uncrossable for buses, cars and emergency vehicles. That is not acceptable for a global city like London.
I continued his campaign to revive the Chelsea Bun which has a long and fascinating history. The Evening Standard this week featured my campaign and Partridges in their coverage on saving the Chelsea Bun. I have also reminded residents to enter the World Chelsea Bun Awards 2024. Entries close on 17 May!
This week, I was able to shared the news with constituents that Mayor Khan and TfL have backed down and traffic will keep moving on Chelsea Embankment! Sadly, I have been shocked to hear of a machete enabled robbery on a shop just off Sydney Street in Chelsea and a stabbing in Clancarty Road, Fulham. I have been working with Home Office Minister Chris Philp to get a ban on machetes.
This week, Greg has launched a new initiative to end the five year farce and fully re-open Hammersmith Bridge. He is calling for the full re-opening of Hammersmith Bridge to cars, buses and emergency vehicles. More below!
