The Conservative Government has implemented new laws which greatly enhances tenancy rights in social housing.
I believe everybody has a right to a safe, clean and well-maintained property and that is why we strengthened the laws for social housing.
So, what is changing?
With the landmark Social Housing Regulation Act:
- Housing Providers will be required to investigate and fix damp and mould within specified timeframes.
- Gives tenants a greater voice and ensure swift and effective resolution of complaints.
- Residents will be able to demand information from their social housing provider and rate their landlord as part of new satisfaction measures.
Your housing provider will be obligated to survey its residents annually and achieve government set targets.
