These covered his work as the Member of Parliament for Chelsea & Fulham as well as his Ministerial work as Minister for Trade Policy and Minister for London.
I would like to inform residents that Heathrow have just started a consultation on noise. I have had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Museum of London at London Wall. The museum is currently closed before the big relocation to Smithfields. I was fascinated to see an antique Chelsea Bun. I am concerned about the continued closure of the Fulham Bilingual School, L'Ecole Marie D'Orliac.
I am greatly saddened at the loss of Charles, Earl Cadogan. He was ever-present in Chelsea, and cared deeply about this very special part of London, the community, the history, the buildings and the environment. Charles leaves an enormous legacy of good works and service to Chelsea. He will be very fondly remembered by the whole community.
The 10-week closure of Wandsworth Bridge will impact Fulham residents and businesses enormously. I have started a petition this week, calling on Wandsworth Council to provide funding for a business rates rebate and to carry out the fastest repair possible for Wandsworth Bridge and calling on the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham to suspend the SW6 Traffic Scheme during the bridge closure.
In the House of Commons on Thursday, 25 May 2023 the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Steve Barclay MP, made a statement on the New Hospital Programme. Funding for the floor-by-floor refurbishment of Charing Cross Hospital is secure.
This week I enjoyed returning to the Chelsea Flower Show with a group of Government Ministers. It was a great honour to welcome Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla to the show on Monday afternoon. There are some fabulous gardens on display – I thoroughly enjoyed my visit!
This week I have been at tube stations in Chelsea & Fulham every morning from 06:30 to 08:30am meeting constituents and tube users. A huge Thank You to the many residents on stopping by for a chat on national and local issues.
It was an honour and a privilege to attend The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey. The ceremony was an extraordinary expression of Britain’s culture, traditions, and history. It was an incredible weekend to celebrate the Coronation in Chelsea and Fulham.
Like many of you, I am looking forward to celebrating The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla over the special bank holiday weekend. I would encourage residents to get involved in the incredible events happening across Chelsea and Fulham!
I am very pleased to announce that the Conservative Government has successfully delivered on its flagship manifesto commitment of recruiting 20,000 new police officers. We now have a record number of police officers across the country, with a record number in London as well.
This week I had the pleasure of meeting the new BCU Commander, Chief Superintendent Louise Puddefoot and Superintendent Owen Renowden. I was glad to hear that theft is receiving increased focus and that addressing robbery and violent crime remain their top priorities.
